so, there is a huge dilemma about the taking away of the binkies.... Chase is the only one that *shouldn't* have a binky, Devin & Macy only get their binky in their crib at naptime & nightime.. but there is a little dis-agreement and I'd like your thoughts... right now.. Chase has 1/2 a binky (LOL), Devin & Macy both have their binkies, Chase so far has not put up any fights and doesn't even seem to care that the whole thing is not there..
so, what do you think? Do you think it's cruel to take them away when I don't really need to? Or do you think taking them all away at the same time is the right thing to do? you can vote anonymously so as not to take sides to any one of us.. and I won't tell you which one of us is on which side..

We took I & S's pacis away on their first birthday (well, right around 15 months they were totally gone). Lorne's OT wanted (wants) him to keep his for oral stimulation with the eating thing - so we "just" took the other two pacis away. The boys all share a room and if they find a paci - they put it in Lorne's bed or find Lorne and give it to him. They know that pacis are HIS - not theirs.
Eek - I hope I'm taking the right side! I think if it weren't for the oral stimulation thing - I would have just taken all three away. But that would just be mainly for ME - I was so sick of them!

Hey chic.. I understand your dilema.. I would agree to take all three away at the same time.. Lilly was a boppy baby hard core.. wldnt sleep without always asking for it.. What we did was cut off the entire plastic part of the binky and let her find them in their normal place that way. Then she would say "mommy broke" "boppy broke" so then I would explain that since the boppy was broke we had to throw it in the trash.. she wasnt so stoked about that but she was the one who actually threw it in the trash.. So when she asked for it over the next couple of days I would just remind her that it broke so she threw it away.. THe fussing lasted about 2 days and she was way over it.. now she looks at pictures when she had it and laughs not remembering that she ever took a binky. I hope all goes well good luck!!
